Why did I get banned?
Chitchat is built to help people meet and talk in a safe, respectful environment. To protect our community, we may temporarily or permanently ban accounts that break our Community Guidelines or make other users feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or harassed.
Common reasons include sexual or explicit behavior, inappropriate profile content, harassment, hate, threats, abuse, unsafe activity, illegal activity, suspicious links, or attempts to bypass bans and moderation tools.
If you believe your ban was a mistake, please submit a request and we'll review it within 24 hours.
How do I report a user?
If someone makes you uncomfortable, breaks the rules, or behaves inappropriately, please report them so our team can review the situation.
In text chat, long-press or hover over the message you want to report, then click Report. You can also report at the end of a chat before leaving the conversation.
In video chat, click the flag icon in the top-right corner of your match's camera. After skipping a user, you can also click the history icon and choose the user you want to report.
How do I appeal my ban?
If you believe your account was banned by mistake, you can submit a request and ask us to review the decision.
When submitting an appeal, please fill out the information requested in the form. Our team will look into the account activity, reports, and any available moderation information before making a decision.
Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that your account will be restored. If we find that the ban was applied correctly, the account will remain banned.
How do I delete my account?
We provide account deletion through our website. You must be signed in to Chitchat to delete your account.
- Click the settings icon in the bottom left corner.
- Tap Privacy.
- Click Delete next to Account Removal.
- Confirm that you understand, then type DELETE MY ACCOUNT in the final confirmation pop-up.
Your account and associated data will become inaccessible after you request deletion. Your data will then be permanently deleted from our servers after 30 days, in line with our Privacy Policy.
