Yes, and we work hard to keep it that way.
Chitchat is built to help people meet, talk, and connect in a safe environment. We use a mix of smart moderation tools, user reports, and clear Community Guidelines to help keep conversations respectful across both text and video chat.
Our Community Guidelines set the tone for what is and is not allowed on Chitchat. They cover things like nudity, sexual behavior, harassment, hate speech, threats, scams, spam, and sharing private information. Users who break these rules may be warned, suspended, or banned.
We also give you safety tools you can use anytime. If someone makes you uncomfortable, you can skip the chat, block them, or report them. Click here to find out how to report a user.
In video chat we use features to give users more control over what they see. For example, if Chitchat does not detect a face on your match’s camera, the video may be blurred automatically. You can then choose whether you want to unblur the screen or skip the chat instead.
No platform for meeting people online can be completely risk-free, so we always recommend protecting your personal information and trusting your instincts. If a conversation feels wrong, leave it and report the user.
Chitchat is made for fun, spontaneous conversations — but safety always comes first.
