How do I verify my account?

Verifying your account means linking it to a sign-in provider such as Google or Apple. It helps us tell real people from spam accounts, and it lets you keep matching without interruptions.

How to verify

1. Open Settings → Account.
2. Click Verify with a provider.
3. Choose a provider and sign in.

That's it. Your username, friends and chat history stay exactly as they were.

Using a guest account?

You'll need to claim it first. In Settings → Account, click Claim Account and choose how you want to sign in. Claiming also means you won't lose your account if you clear your browser data. See How do I recover a guest account? for why that matters.

"Link an account to continue chatting"

If you see this message, chatting on your account is paused until you link a provider. It usually appears after a report or a violation of our Community Guidelines.

Choose a provider in the window that opens and sign in. Chatting unlocks as soon as the link goes through. You can see why it was required in Settings → Standing.

"Provider is already linked to an account"

Each Google, Apple or Facebook login can only be linked to one Chitchat account. If you see this error, that login is already in use on another account. Sign in with a different one, or contact support if you think this is wrong.
