Why is my match's video blurred?

During a video chat, Chitchat can check your match's video for inappropriate activity, like nudity. If it spots something, the video is blurred straight away and you'll see We've detected inappropriate activity.

What you can do

• Report: ends the chat and reports your match to our moderation team. Use this if the video broke our Community Guidelines.
• Skip: ends the chat and finds you someone new.
• Unblur: removes the blur and continues the chat. Only do this if you think the detection was a mistake.

Blurred while you report

When you open the report window during a video chat, your match's video is blurred and their audio is muted until you finish. You don't have to keep watching someone while you report them.

Why this happens automatically

Detection runs in real time, so it can blur a video before you've had a chance to react. It isn't perfect. Something harmless can occasionally trigger it, which is why you can always choose to unblur.

Our moderation team reviews reports and enforces our rules. Automatic blurring doesn't replace reporting, so if something was wrong, please report it.
