Why are images and videos blurred?
Chitchat blurs some images and videos that other people send you, so you decide what you see. Click a blurred image or video to reveal it.
What's blurred by default
- From matches: all images and videos are blurred. Matches are people you haven't met yet, so we play it safe.
- From friends: only sensitive media is blurred.
Sensitive media is detected automatically.
Change what's blurred
- Open Settings → Privacy.
- Find Sensitive Media.
- Choose a setting for Matches and one for Friends.
Each has three options:
- Blur all media: every image and video stays blurred until you click it.
- Blur sensitive media: only media detected as sensitive is blurred.
- Don't blur: everything shows straight away.
Your choice saves automatically and applies straight away.
Someone sent you something you didn't want to see?
Blurring is there to protect you, but sending sexual content to someone who didn't ask for it still breaks our Community Guidelines. Leave the chat and report the user.
